HAV of Copenhagen uses only marine collagen from sustainably caught wild fish in the North Atlantic – with an optimal molecular size of 2,000 Daltons . This size offers the perfect balance: small enough for rapid and efficient absorption, but large enough to remain effective in the body for longer.
This is because molecules that are too small (under 1,000 Daltons) are absorbed extremely quickly, but are also broken down just as quickly – their effect is less sustained. In HAV, the short- and medium-chain peptides exert their effect noticeably more intensely and over a longer period.
Compared to bovine or porcine collagen, fish collagen is not only easier to digest but also better tolerated – even by sensitive stomachs. It has natural anti-inflammatory properties and is free of the difficult-to-digest structures that often cause intolerances in animal collagen from land animals.
